In response to the rapidly changing circumstances associated with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the steering committee has made the decision to cancel the conference planned for 2020. In doing so, we have carefully weighed the risks to attendees and their families, colleagues, and patients. We feel strongly that cancelling the conference is then the responsible action to take.
This has been a difficult decision for the steering committee as we are a not-for-profit organization that depends heavily on the conference to be able to pay the yearly WFSBP membership. Thus, we would very much appreciate if as many as possible choose to pay this year’s fee to the Swedish society (see email for details). As previously, a yearly paid membership fee for the society will render a discount on the coming conference (and in sum save you money).Â
Our aim is that the conference will take place in the spring of 2021. The steering committee will continue to monitor the development of the pandemic and based on the advisories we will take a decision in early 2021 regarding if the conference can be held in person or as a digital event. Despite the uncertainty we however feel confident that the conference will be worth waiting for!Â
